Meet the Makers: Independent London's Shoreditch Pop-Up!

From fashion, to food and the arts, Independent London have long since paved the way to alternative shopping with their beautiful guide containing everything you need to shop independently in London.

Always looking to promote independents and creatives, Independent London have opened an exciting new pop-up shop in trendy Shoreditch which showcases a selection of carefully curated work from London designers, artists and makers. Naturally, we were chuffed when Effie from Independent London got in touch to ask if we’d like to feature our jewellery at their Boxpark pop-up!

We visited the #ILpopup on Monday to set up displays featuring jewellery from the Nature Walk Collection and Yasmin Everley’s Entomology Collection. We thought these collections would be perfect for the autumn and leading up to halloween. Similar to our current window display at our boutique, we used vintage wooden display cases decorated with leaves and branches to create a scene of wilderness and refinement where flowers blossom and beetles scuttle amongst the fallen oak leaves.

You can see Joy busily setting up our jewellery display at Independent London's pop-up in Boxpark. She's decorating the cabinet with acorns, oak leaves and beetle jewellery!

All the other makers were also busy setting up too and we had our eyes on lots of beautiful items made by a selection of talented and very creative people. Some of our favourite designers include the illustrator Sandra Dieckmann, Daisy Cooper Ceramics, and William and Watson lighting.

Sandra Dieckmann wonderful illustrations look perfect as prints, on greeting cards or even ceramics! She has a studio called MAMA WOLF in Hackney where all the creative magic happens!

Daisy Cooper creates ceramics inspired by wilderness. She using traditional hand building techniques such as pinching and coiling the clay and glazes her ceramics in earthy colours. Some of our rings are displayed on her ring holders.

William and Watson are a team of artists who create unique lighting designs, including ceiling roses, brightly coloured and unusual cable, lamps and LED bulbs. We couldn't help but fall in love the diamond shaped bulb - perfect for all those that adore diamonds.

There's lots of see at Independent London's pop-up shop in Shoreditch, so come along and visit us! The pop-up will be open all week, closing on the 1st November 2015.
