This unusual engagement ring has been set with three diamonds as a nod to Edward III status as the third King Edward of England and the yellow gold has been used as the bright gold colour was highly fashionable at the time. The trilogy setting of the piece is also inspired by popular jewellery trends of Philippa's period.

The price displayed is a guide and will vary depending on your choice of stone.

Queen Philippa, 1314 CE - 1369 CE

Queen Regent, Philippa of Hainault married King Edward III in 1327. Britain's first recorded black monarch, Philippa was born in Belgium in 1314. She was the daughter of the Count of Hainault and believed to be an ancestor of Moorish tribes who had settled there. An avid patron of the arts, Philippa contributed much to English culture and was well loved and highly regarded for her kindness. When Philippa passed away in 1369, Edward III and the country mourned for her greatly. She is buried with her husband in a lavish tomb in Westminster Abbey.
